Poem

I watch the change from winter’s
stark architecture to jewels
of yellow, green pink and white;
showers of seeds, trees blooming
into full leaf; morning shade
cool in summer and fading
as its tender, raw youth flees;
showing the amber, rust, scarlet
of fall; before returning
to winter’s simple beauty.
